Need a bigger challenge? Iwatake also offers a snow park with a variety of items such as; tables, kickers, rails and more. Come and enhance your riding experience!
The Snow Park is located at the Iwatake#3lift area.
Some of the items may not be open depending on the snow conditions.
Hakuba Iwatake offers two snowshoe courses at the top of the resort.
Here, you can enjoy a relaxing stroll with the Northern Alps 3000m class peaks towering above you.
The View Course: Average time to complete: One hour. This course is comparatively flat and goes through a sparsely forested area with spectacular views. Enjoy the outdoors in a relaxing way!
The Nishi Tsuga course:This course takes you through a National Protected Forest where you make your way through a beautiful primeval forest of Beech trees. Away from the hustle & bustle of the ski area, you can enjoy the peace and quite of the outdoors and maybe you will even meet one of the local animals including rabbits, foxes and Kamoshika (Japanese Serow) while leaving your own tracks in the virgin snow.
As this course does venture out of the ski area, a hired guide is recommended. Guides are available for hire. Please contact the Iwatake Ski School for more information.
Hakuba Iwatake offers two cross-country ski courses, the longer course is an SAJ officially recognized 5km course and there is a short 3 km course available as well. Both courses allow you to glide through lightly forested terrain where you can let all your troubles disappear while taking in the beautiful scenery and breathing the fresh air of the outdoors.
No experience? Not to worry, cross-country ski lessons are available for beginners at the Iwatake Ski School.
The courses are located at the north side of the Gondola base station.

This area also provides a safe environment for kid’s group ski lessons.
Poles and course set up equipment are available free of charge. The area is
groomed and in good condition everyday.
Here, skiers and snowboarders can set up a slalom pole course to improve their
Alpine competition skills & techniques.
This area is open daily except when it has been reserved by a group, team or the ski school.

Ancient spring—which become brown in the air— has been confined in the Fossa Magna for 25 million years. Temperature is about 48℃. Good for warm by sodium,chloride, hydrogen carbonate hot spring.
